Well, it seems like Microsoft is not yet interested in feeding its WP7 app marketplace with a plenty of apps. The lack of apps is one of the biggest knocks on WP7. It seems like there’s a scam where a few app developers are submitting apps in bulk to manipulate the “new” tab of the marketplace.
The biggest concern is this that these app developers don’t submit unique apps in a day. Instead they submit so many similar apps to the marketplace to dominate the most popular “new” tab. This problem isn’t coming first time in the way of Microsoft. Last year, they also restricted developers from submitting more than 20 apps a day.
So for this time, for stopping this scam, Microsoft has restricted app developers from submitting more than10 apps per day. Currently the WP7 Marketplace ecosystem is far behind than the ecosystem of Android and iOS marketplace. Their are only 30,000 apps in the marketplace till now while iOS marketplace has 425,000 apps, and Android marketplace has 225,000 apps available.
But in my opinion, the number 10 is still enough to keep app developers happy as many app developers will be pretty comfortable in submitting more then 1 app per day.
