Sony has now turned out with its new series, Vaio Z laptops. These laptops are now finally available for purchase as the company showed it off to the European press . This ultra-slim laptop is a challenger for Apple’s ‘Macbook Air.’

The specs of this ‘ultra-mobile’ notebook reveals a 13.1 inch anti-reflective display which throws up a resolution of 1600 x 900 with an on-board Intel’s HD graphics 3000 .The other specs are also really amazing which would beat the features of Macbook Air . Lets have a look over these specs :

It has an Intel core i7 processor with a speed of 2.7 GHz which’ll increase to 3.4 GHz with Intel’s Turbo Boast technology. Vaio Z has 8GB RAM and 256 GB of SSD storage . Then there comes a 3D enabled HDMI port, USB 3.0 ports attached with it and also there is a button-less touch-pad same as the Macbook style. It has a sheet battery which was earlier seen in Sony Vaio S series laptops which can give you 7 hours of computing .

Sony is also pushing the Power Media Dock. It is an expansion device that connects to Vaio through an optical cable . It contributes the power of an AMD Radeon 6650M GPU with 1GB of dedicated memory connected via “the architecture codenamed Light Peak” — Sony can’t call it Thunderbolt .The dock sports one USB 3.0 hookup plus additional USB, VGA and HDMI ports, and a slot for either a DVD or Blu-ray drive .

The pricing starts at £1,434 ($2,294) with a Core i5 CPU, 4GB of RAM and no PMD. The dock is a £400 ($640) option with no optical drive included .
