Nokia , the world’s leading mobile phone maker now at last has decided to pull out of the Japanese market . As in november 2008, Nokia stopped supplying its handsets to japanese carriers, but at the same time announcing that they will re-enter the market with their luxury sub-brand ”Vertu” .
They started offering those phones in september 2009 but now they have decided to give up from this buisness too . Its luxury brand of handsets Vertu is still having some presence in Japan .
Nokia is still having two of its stores of brand Vertu in Japan , one in in trendy Shibuya, the other in the upscale district of Ginza. These stores will also be shutting down by the end of july . They can’t get out from their as company is having a contract with their local partner NTT Docomo which will expire at the end of this August.
Meanwhile, Nokia’s tokyo office will stay open till the end of this year to handle fee refunds and some of its important matters related to japan’s buisness but those will be shut down too by the end of this year . Thus Nokia will end all of its buisness from Japan and there would be no presense of Nokia in Japan saying them SAYONARA for the last time .
