Google has announced the latest version of Android Market ( 3.0.26 ) just a couple hours ago. In this version, the Android Market has a full facelift and opens the Movie and Book doors to the world for full rental and purchase options. But you must have to update your Videos and Books apps to gain access to these new bits of media.

Latest Version of Android Market

First of all you’re going to take a look at some of the biggest changes in the Android Market. You’ll see some big rectangular boxes  dominating the landscape. Each box contains a shortcut to a piece of media you can purchase. You’ll be still using the Android Market with your Google Account. So you don’t need to update your Credit Card information.

Movies

The first item that should be on your docket is Videos. The process of purchasing a video is same as the process of purchasing an app. Find the movie by searching about it; make your payment and you’re done!

Once you’ve got the video, it’ll be sitting pretty in your official Google “Videos” app. If you don’t have the latest version of your app then you need to download it as soon as possible.

Books

The process of purchasing, downloading and setting in app is same as the process of Movies. In this case they’re set in your stock Google “Books” app. If you don’t have the latest version of the app then you need to download  it.

Apps and Games

Apps and Games sit in the market very similar to the way they used to sit in the previous version. But aesthetics make the difference. There’s a slightly nicer look, and a nice way of handling landscape mode for each listing.

As we’ve heard, this new version of Android Market will be up for everyone in next few weeks. After using this version of Android Market, let me and others know your thoughts about it in the Disqus thread below and keep visiting Gadget Media for further updates!
