As we know that Modern Computers are not just faster then the older ones, but they also produce much heat then the old computers. So its necessary to have something for preventing the damages caused from the overheating of the computers.

For this purpose, some Modern PCs are now coming with an Alarm System. Whenever a component of your PC gets overheated, an alarm starts sounding and gives you a warning that your the temperature of your CPU or chipset is too high.

But just an early warning is not enough for preventing irreparable damages. So some computers like ASUS P6T are coming with Auto Shutdown feature. This feature automatically shuts down your PC whenever your PC gets overheated. But this function will only work when you’ll enable it. So for enabling this feature on your ASUS P6T, follow the simple steps given below:

  1. First of all shut down the computer with the ASUS P6T motherboard and restart it.
  2. After restarting, Press the “Delete” key as soon as you see the “ASUS” logo or the “Press DEL to enter Setup” message on the boot screen.
  3. Now Press the right-arrow key to navigate to the “Power” menu header and press the Enter key.
  4. Navigate to the “TEMP Overheat Protection” value and press the “Enter” key.
  5. Scroll down to and select the desired temperature setting that triggers the computer to shut down. The value option allows you to choose an option between 50 and 90 degrees Celsius.  Choosing a setting between 50 and 60 degrees is generally good.
  6. Now press the “F10″ key to save the changes to the system BIOS and restart the computer.

Thats it! Now start using your ASUS P6T normally. Whenever your PC will reach the temperature that you saved in the system BIOS, the PC will shutdown automatically.
