According to Nick Caplin, the firm’s head of communication in Europe,“To my knowledge there is no truth to this report of a list, or that Sony was offered an opportunity to purchase the list.” Seybold Patrick also said that, contrary to published reports, passwords were not stored in a plain text file. Although there was no proof of  main SOE credit card database was breached, Sony said that “ it can be possible that an outdated database may have obtained”.This  database have credit card details or direct debit information of around 23,400 European customers .
