A Los Angels judge reported on Wednesday that he will rule next week on whether a lawsuit by Metrolink engineers objecting to onboard video cameras should go to trial or not.

According to the City News Service, the Superior Court Judge Mr. Luis Lavin saidon Wednesday that he is skeptical of claims by the engineers but he wants to consider the case further before making a final decision.

As we know that these onboard video cameras were installed  after the September 2008 Chatsworth train crash. There were 25 people killed and 100 others injured in this train crash. According to Federal Investigation the reason of train crash was that the engineer was texting at the moment and had just run a red light.

So for preventing such train crashes from happening in future, Metrolink installed onboard video cameras for keeping a tab at the every movement of engineers. But after the installation of these cameras, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen claimed a lawsuit in Court stating that these cameras are creating problems for their due process rights and privacy.

So right now Metrolink wants Mr. Luis Lavin to dismiss the lawsuit by the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen while Engineers want Mr. Lavin to object the use of cameras. Mr. Luis want to go in further details before making a decision. So lets see what happens next. I will update this post when the final decision from the court comes out. So keep visiting Gadget Media.
