We aren’t sure, but some solid sources are saying that this Sunday, Sony can provide the most detailed update yet on Playstation Network Hack and something about status of personal information and credit card numbers of up to 77 million customers.
Kaz Hirai, Head of Sony’s gaming division will answer the questions of journalists in Tokyo. According to Sony, Hirai will also provide findings of an investigation into the hack of its gaming service. Hirai will also discuss on the PlayStation Network’s system security measures and service restoration plan in detail.
As we know, The Playstation Network, which acts as an online gaming platform for Playstation 3, is not available from more then a week. Sony took it offline as soon as they came to know that network is suffering from a hack attack.
Except all of this, the most important thing is personal information of 77 million customers. Sony said that personal information of customers was lost; but it isn’t clear that does it affects all 77 million customers. Or, are credit card numbers of these 77 million customers are also lost? If it happens, then it can be very harmful for these users.
Sony said that they became aware of an attack on April 19 2011, but they took the network offline a day later. And on April 26 2011, Sony warned customers that their private information may have stolen.
This news conference will be Hirai’s first conference in which he will say something about the Playstation Network Hack problem. He appeared in a conference last Tuesday for presenting the prototypes of Sony’s upcoming Tablets, but he didn’t said anything about the Playstation Network Hack.
