If you want to capture a moment and to share it with your family and friends, then you simply make a short video of it with your Handycam and upload it directly to Facebook or Youtube and your friends and family members view it easily. But what if you want to share a Full-Length HD DVD Video with your family and friends?? So here I am providing a step-by-step guide which will help you in uploading your full length DVD Videos directly to Youtube.
Step 1- Get the videos from DVD to your computer’s Hard Drive
Using VidCoder , firstly extract videos from DVD Images to your hard drive. Just run the VidCoder , insert your DVD and choose VIDEO_TS folder of your DVD drive as the Source.
Step 2- Begin the Conversion
In VidCoder , Press Ctrl + T or choose File –> Enque Multiple Titles and add all the titles to the queue for conversion.
You don’t need to modify the Encoding part. Now hit the “Encode” button. The conversion process will begin now. Let it complete.
Step 3- Make Your DVD Video Youtube Ready
Youtube doesn’t accept videos longer than 15 minutes. So you’ll have to cut your DVD Video in short parts of 15-15 minutes each.
MP4Box; a windows only utility can help you a lot in this matter.
Lets say, if you have 2 video parts of 20 minutes each and if you split them at the 00:15:00 mark, you’ll actually end up with four clips – two of 15 minutes each while the other two of 5 minutes each. So for preventing such situation, it will be better that you firstly join both parts and then split them at the 00:15:00 mark.
Step 4- Upload to Youtube
Your videos are now ready for uploading to Youtube. Here I will suggest you using the Java based upload tool because it supports resumable video uploads.
Hit the “Upload Video” button and select all the 15 minutes parts in one go. Now you can take some break because uploading takes some time.
Step 5- Link Videos
After the uploading is finished, you are now set for linking these videos. I suggest linking them because your friends will be able to view them in sequences. You can do so by Video Annotations feature of Youtube.
Open the first video clip in Annotations editor, then scroll to the end and insert a speech bubble that points to your second video clip. Do the same with all the other clips.
Video Annotations feature takes much effort; so you can simply put your videos in a playlist. The advantage of putting videos in playlist is that one can watch all videos from one page without having to manually navigate through videos.
Go and enjoy!!
